The Limestone County Commission will hold a special meeting on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The meeting will be held in the Commission Chambers located at the Clinton Street Courthouse Annex, 100 South Clinton Street, 2nd Floor, Athens, AL 35611.
A past program that recycled around 115,000 tires is returning to Limestone County. The Limestone County Commission is excited to announce the Alabama Scrap Tire Program is back in Limestone County through September 2025. This program is made possible through a grant that was received from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. All tires that are recycled will be used to make different products. Residents may recycle their tires at any of the four Limestone County Commission’s District Sheds between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tires must be loaded into the collection trailers located at each location. This program is for Limestone County residents only and is not to be used by any dealers.
