Historic House in Belle Mina




Limestone County was created by an act of the Alabama Territorial General Assembly Feb. 6, 1818. It was formed from land comprising Elk County , then a part of the Mississippi Territory . The county was named for Limestone Creek, which flows through it and whose bed is made of hard limestone.
