The Limestone County Parks and Recreation Department has lots to offer for campers as well as the trail lovers. The County offers camping at Cowford Campground, located on the beautiful Tennessee River.
We also have our Rails to Trails area that has ten miles of trail for biking, walking, and equestrian lovers. |

The Archives is the official repository for records produced by various county departments. These departments include the Probate Court, Circuit Court, Revenue Commission, County Commission, Board of Education and Board of Registrars. The Alabama Veterans Museum & Archives is a 4,000 square-foot staffed museum. Our collection contains an impressive display of artifacts from the Revolutionary War until present day. Visitors can walk among the actual uniforms, medals, photos, and weapons. Hear stories and experiences about the nation’s wars from men and women who were there in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the present conflict.

The Limestone County Shop receives calls from the general public, various agencies, and county departments for assistance. It purchases stock supplies and equipment parts for the various county departments.

The Limestone County Farmer's Market is one of the oldest institutions still in business. The market has been moved many times over the years and in September 1979 Limestone County Commission permitted the farmers to use county property on Green Street for a farmers market if they would regulate the use of the market.

The Limestone County Event Center is a versatile facility owned and operated by the Limestone County Commission that is ready to accommodate a wide variety of events including banquets, reunions, wedding receptions, business seminars, employee training, arts and crafts shows, and even musical events.
